I Think the only fault that I can find in this delicious smoothie is that it probably wouldn't be socially acceptable to eat it for every meal of the day. When mangoes are in season I'm a little more than obsessed with that fleshy fruit, and take their epic nectar flavor as being a sign that there is a god, and he, or she, invented mangoes. Now the recipe calls for real straight from the teat yogurt, well not exactly, but you can do the magic substitution and throw in your favorite almond, soy, or coconut based alternative. Oh and please add a pinch if not more of that cardamom, it takes it to another level that you deserve to experience. Get your smoothie on with the recipe located here.

The best part about this morning treat is that it's packed with so much super food goodness, featuring one super food that most people overlook. I'm not talking about the berries with their antioxidant packed profile, nor am I talking about the chia seed with it's omega-3 boost. The maca will help give you a push but it's still not my favorite super food in this parfait. The buckwheat is what I'm the most thrilled about in this dish, with it's large amounts of magnesium and other vital minerals, this underutilized seed grain is a super food in my book. After spending some time in Mexico, I learned very quickly that the tortilla can have a very prominent place on the breakfast table. That's not to say that they fill it with american breakfasty items like these delicious tacos are, but still it's good to sometimes think outside the bagel and toast filled morning culture we have here in the states.
